P0140 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S)

The warmed oxygen sensor 2 (HO2S), after three way impetus (complex), screens the oxygen level in the fumes gas on each bank. For ideal impetus activity, the air fuel blend (air-fuel proportion) should be kept up with close to the best stoichiometric proportion. The HO2S yield voltage changes unexpectedly nearby the stoichiometric proportion. The Engine Control Module (ECM) changes the fuel infusion time with the goal that the air-fuel proportion is almost stoichiometric. The HO2S produces a voltage somewhere in the range of 0.1 and 0.9 V in light of oxygen in the fumes gas. In the event that the oxygen in the fumes gas builds, the air-fuel proportion becomes Lean. The ECM deciphers Lean when the HO2S voltage is beneath 0.45 V. In the event that the oxygen in the fumes gas diminishes, the air-fuel proportion becomes Rich. The ECM deciphers Rich when the HO2S voltage is above 0.45 V.
